Cascade Youth League recreational softball program consists of four age based levels depending on your age as of Jan 2nd.
Program emphasis is on fundamentals of the game as players are shown the basics of hitting, throwing, catching and base running within a framework of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Beginning this season, 2026, 6U softball will be available following a similar game structure of our older leagues! This will give the younger girls in our community an outlet to safely participate in the game at a younger age. 8 and under focus is on learning the fundamentals of fast pitch softball. 10 and under learn fundamentals on full fast pitch softball game play (player/coach pitch). 12 and under focus on skill advancement into USSSA fast pitch rules. Junior Cadet girls play at a higher level with full USSSA fast pitch rules.
All coaches are volunteers and coaches set up the practice location, day and time. Rosters, schedules, uniforms and equipment are distributed to coaches in March. Players will be contacted by the coach of their team by mid March. Practices will begin in March and the 12-game season will begin end of April and run through end of May.
The focus of our recreational leagues at Cascade Youth League are to develop skills and build confidence. Emphasizing player effort and practicing good sportsmanship take priority over winning.
